Gord Nash recorded nineteen fourth-quarter saves Saturday afternoon, stonewalling an Arizona Sting rally as the Colorado Mammoth claimed a 13-12 victory at Pepsi Center in the Western Division Final.

Colorado advances to the NLL Championship Game on Saturday, 13 May, against the winner of tonight's Eastern Division Final between Rochester and Buffalo.

Arizona's Craig Conn scored the first goal of the game just before the four-minute mark, but just thirteen seconds later, Colorado captain Gavin Prout answered, off the faceoff.

The game continued scoreless for another three minutes, until Chris Gill scored a power play goal for Colorado. Just like before, Peter Veltman answered mere seconds later, tying the game at 2-2.

Colorado fired back with two of its own, by Brian Langtry and Andrew Burkholder.

Sting rookie Matt Brown then scored the final goal of the first quarter, cutting the deficit to 4-3.

Colorado began the second quarter by going ahead by another two goals, courtesy of Dan Carey and Burkholder.

The Sting's Lindsay Plunkett, assisted by Dan Dawson, came back to score just over a minute later, but, 30 seconds after that, Josh Sims answered for the Mammoth.

After holding the game scoreless for just shy of four minutes, Arizona scored twice in less than a minute (Chris Seller and Mark Cochrane), pulling within 7-6.

Langtry comes back just seconds later for his second of the night, folowed by Veltman and his second of the night.

Gill finished the first-half scoring with another power play goal, putting the Mammoth ahead 9-7.

After the break, Conn came out on fire, putting up a natural hat trick in less than four minutes and giving Arizona its first lead since 1-0.

Four minutes later, Nick Carlson scored Colorado's first goal of the half, then Dan Stroup came back after a defensive fight to regain the lead, at 11-10, for the Mammoth.

Scott Self scored, unassisted, at 12:36, sending the game to the final period with an 11-11 tie.

Colorado untied the game rather quickly, as Carlson scored in the second minute and Carey in the fifth, for a 12-10 lead.

This is where Nash took over, allowing only a Dawson goal with 6:43 to play and holding on for dear life as the Sting sought to force overtime.

Conn had a busy night in front of the net, scoring four goals and dishing out two assists. Prout also had a six-point game, on a goal and five assists. ,/p>

Colorado now plays for the title for the first time since relocating to Denver in 2003. The last previous title shot came in 1998, as the Baltimore Thunder.
