For the second straight year, it's a double play for the men behind the bench.

Portland LumberJax head coach Derek Keenan, who also serves as the team's general manager, was named today as the General Manager of the Year, a day after winning the Les Bartley Award as the Coach of the Year.

Previous Winners:
2005 Bob Hamley
       Arizona Sting
2004 Johnny Mouradian
       San Jose Stealth
2003 Kurt Silcott
       Buffalo Bandits
2002 Dave Evans
       Vancouver Ravens

Arizona Sting head coach Bob Hamley completed the double last season.

Keenan built the first-year LumberJax from the ground up, beginning with the selection of defenseman Brodie Merrill with the top pick in last summer's entry draft.

Keenan then methodically started bringing in players he had coached in Anaheim in 2005, including leading scorer Peter Morgan. A total of ten former Storm players appeared in a LumberJax uniform this season.

In his final major preseason move, Keenan added goaltender Dallas Eliuk from Philadelphia in a December trade, improving a staff which already included veteran Matt King and rookie Aaron Bold.

The award announcements resume Monday with the selection of the Executive of the Year and several awards honoring front office employees.
