The National Lacrosse League today revealed the protected player lists for the 12 July expansion draft, during which the new Chicago and New York franchises will begin to stock their rosters.

Teams had the option of protecting thirteen runners and one goaltender or ten runners and two goaltenders. Only the Minnesota Swarm chose to protect the extra goaltender.

This puts many notable players on the block, including Arizona Sting forward Pat Maddalena, Calgary Roughnecks goaltender Curtis Palidwor, Edmonton Rush forward Jamey Bowen, and San Jose Stealth goaltenders Brandon Miller and Matt Vinc.

Each existing team will lose two players (not necessarily one to each expansion team), and will be able to protect one additional player after its first loss.

Chicago will have the odd-numbered picks, beginning with the first selection, while New York owns the even-numbered picks.
