The Calgary Roughnecks today traded forward Jason Wulder to the Edmonton Rush for forward Kerry Susheski and a 2007 second-round entry draft pick.

Wulder, who became the Roughnecks' first-ever player courtesy of a May 2001 trade from New York, has totalled 196 goals, 273 assists, and 599 loose ball recoveries in a twelve-year career.

In sixteen games last season, Wulder connected for 24 goals and 24 assists, along with 87 loose balls.

"It’s always tough to lose a player like Jason. He played good lacrosse here for a number of years and consistently dropped in around twenty goals for us," Roughnecks general manager Kurt Silcott said. "We’ll have to find a way to make up those goals."

Yesterday, the Roughnecks designated Wulder as a franchise player, assuring him of the league-maximum salary for 2007. Edmonton now has three franchise players, including Dan Stroup and Chris Gill.

In return for Wulder, the Roughnecks receive Susheski, whose five-year career includes stops with New Jersey, Buffalo, Minnesota, and Edmonton.

Susheski has 55 goals, 55 assists and 243 loose balls in 56 career games.
